Demerger on ice as Land Securities picks new chairman

Land Securities, the UK-listed property group, today confirmed it has shelved year-old demerger plans as it revealed a £1.7bn (€2.1bn) first-half pre-tax loss and announced the appointment of the chairman of exchange-traded futures and options broker MF Global to succeed Paul Myners as its chairman.
