At the end of last year, London-based Chammah was named co-president to replace Zoe Cruz. Already a star in the investment banking firmament, Chammah has gone from strength to strength since the return of John Mack as chairman and chief executive. Mack originally hired Lebanese compatriot Chammah from CSFB in 1993 during Mack’s first stint at Morgan Stanley. Chammah made his name by almost single-handedly creating the asset-backed securities market so should be well-equipped to navigate the credit crisis.
